夏威夷王國代表加努西博士（Keanu Sai）一向堅稱夏威夷主權自古以來屬於夏威夷王國，今年尚向歌倫比亞法院控告特朗普非法侵佔夏威夷領土。二零一四年夏威夷NEWS NOW電視臺訪問加努西夏威夷主權獨立論。夏威夷州政府同美國政府皆無譴責電視臺鼓吹夏獨，傷害美國人民感情。美國當局亦從未宣布夏威夷王國為非法社團，危害國家安全。加努西本人亦無受到任何政治迫害，大學教席一直保持。

On 14 August, Foreign Correspondents’ Club invited Mr. Andy Chan Ho-tin, convener of Hong Kong National Party, to give a luncheon talk, and was consequently accused by the Hong Kong Government, Beijing and pro-China lawmakers of assisting Chan to incite secession, and thereby hurting the feelings of 1.3 billion China people. Today, a few civil organizations held a press conference in the HK Legislative Council to condemn the establishment for menacing freedom of speech and press.
Representing Local Press, Chapman Chen pointed out that any media registered with the local government are entitled to invite a political speaker to deliver a speech, for this is equivalent to an interview, which does not represent whether the media approves or disapproves of the interviewee’s political advocacy. Freedoms of press and speech is guaranteed in the HK Basic Law and International Human Rights Conventions. If the interviewee is a confirmed terrorist, for sure the police will arrest him beforehand. Now let us look at the practice of some civilized countries.
Dr. Keanu Sai, representative of Kingdom of Hawaii, has been maintaining that Hawaii’s sovereignty has belonged to the Kingdom since 1843. In 2014, he was interviewed by Hawaii News Now, and neither the Hawaiian Government nor Washington condemned the TV Station for aiding and abetting Keanu Sai in splitting the sacred territory of the United States or hurting the feelings of American people. And Keanu Sai himself has never been subjected to any political persecution for his separatist advocacy.
In 2017, Scottish lawmakers voted 69-59 in favor of an independence referendum between autumn 2018 and spring 2019. The process was live broadcast by a number of media all over the world, like CNN, BBC, ABC, without encountering any hindrances from the UK Government.
