This evening, Wu Chi-wai, Chair of Hong Kong Democratic Party, and Helena Wong Pik-wan, member of the same party, strongly condemned their fellow member-lawmaker, Ted Hui, for rudely offending a woman executive officer in the Legco and for seizing her mobile phone earlier on. Ted Hui had apologized and explained it was because the mobile phone contained a large number of lawmakers’ private information. Wu Chi-wai stated that as Hui’s behaviour severely damaged their party’s reputation, his membership was frozen, and he would be subjected to internal interrogation. Wu claimed that they impartially treated member-lawmakers and government officials who had inappropriately behaved.
