Recently, in relation to the threats posed by vaccination, I gave an interview to News Magazine, TVB, and another one to Inmediahk , as a long-time green vegan activist and as a veteran translation scholar. In these interviews, the following salient points were mentioned, among others. In a nutshell, there have been credible scientific researches showing vaccines to be not only ineffective but also dangerous. As the vaccine business involves profits of trillions of dollars, the anti-vaccine movement is under great pressure. Fortunately, the newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, is exploring setting up a commission to look into the link between autism and vaccine. The Government of Hong Kong had better take into consideration medical approaches other than Western-style medicine, e.g., Chinese medicine and natural therapies, in its epidemic-prevention policy, and adopt a holistic approach to public health in Hong Kong. Or else a ruling crisis may result.

Since the invention and dissemination of vaccine, there have been doctors of conscience trying to debunk the myth of vaccination as an effective measure of disease prevention, braving the enormous pressure exerted by rich and powerful pharmacies. Back in 1902, Dr. John Hodge, who had been responsible for official promotion of vaccination in New York, published Vaccination and Superstition, in which he stresses that vaccination is the biggest medical fraud in the 20th Century, that there is no concrete scientific evidence to prove that vaccination can prevent any disease, that the injection of a vaccine, which consists of pathogens, into the human body will not only fail to prevent the targeted disease, but also disturb the immunity system of the body, thereby rendering it vulnerable to a number of diseases.

In 2014, Dr. William Thompson, a senior scientist and epidemiologist at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), denounced CDC for suppressing evidence for the link between autism and vaccination and for fabricating scientific researches to deny the link. The link is in actuality supported by at least 124 research papers . Moreover, in the study published in the 2017 International Journal of Vaccines and Vaccinations , the researchers led by Antonietta Gatti, of the National Council of Research of Italy and the Scientific Director of Nanodiagnostics, say their results show that ALL vaccines contain dubious chemicals and heavy metals, whose names do not appear in the products’ ingredients list.

As aforementioned, the power of vaccines manufacturing pharmacies cannot be underestimated; medical practitioners convincingly debunking the myth of vaccination are more often than not subjected to persecution and harassment. For instance, Dr. Thompson has been prevented from testifying in court about the vaccine-autism link. Dr. Andrew Wakefield, whose medical research showed the link between vaccination and children’s bowel disease, was disqualified by the British medical license issuing authority, whilst his finding was subsequently supported by at least 35 peer-reviewed research papers . And in the last one year and a half, more than sixty anti-vaccine holistic doctors met their mysterious deaths .

Fortunately, during his election campaign, Donald Trump already courageously argued for the vaccine-autism link. And now he is actively considering forming a commission on autism to investigate this matter, which he thinks affects a huge number of US families.

This leads to the point that the Hong Kong Government is supposed to place a premium on Hong Kong citizen’s health and take care of it holistically. A holistic approach to public health in Hong Kong means not only seriously considering the threats posed by vaccination, but also stopping the influx of poisonous meat, poisonous vegetables, poisonous water, and poisonous air from Mainland China. The Government has to do its city-planning well, refrain from chopping trees as much as possible, protect our country parks, which are municipal lungs, instead of building houses on them. The Government should revive local farming, too. In fact, as organic certification done in Hong Kong is globally recognized and trusted, Hong Kong has the potential to become one of the leading organic food production centres in the world, provided that the Government is ready to support the field technologically and financially.

Another question to ask is: Now that there is considerable evidence showing the risks of vaccination, why does the Hong Kong Government, in its epidemic prevention measures, only consider the method of Western-style medicine, but not other safer methods, such as Chinese medicine and natural therapies, including homeopathy? For example, during the SARS period in 2003, people suspected of having the disease were compulsorily subjected to Western-style medical treatment, like injection of steroid and Tamiflu, which led to avascular necorsis in a number of patients. They were not given any other option; they were deprived of the freedom to take Chinese medicine or seek the help of homeopathy as an alternative to Western medication. I advocate the setting up in Hong Kong of an exclusive Chinese medicine hospital, and a natural therapy medical school cum hospital.

If the government does not care about public health, a ruling crisis may result. Take for an example the residents of Qing Yuan and Jiang Xi, China. In order to prevent the sources of their drinking water from being contaminated by factories, they dared to stage demonstrations and confront the atrocious Mainland police at great risks.
