The recent HK$ 4.7 Billion Seabound Highway project proposed by the Hong Kong Communist Government is an important step towards colonization of Lantau Island and cessation of it to China. This highway will facilitate the “forging” of Tai O into a “cultural sight-seeing village” for China tourists.
The development plan of Lantau Island may be represented by “Study on Action Plan for the Bay Area of the Pearl River Estuary” (abbreviated Bay Area Plan), proposed by the Hong Kong Communist Government and the Chinese Communist Government in 2011. This project aims at thoroughly incorporating Hong Kong into the Pearl River Delta. It proposes a number of measures, which, if put into practice, will dissolve the bounder between Hong Kong and China. All along, the Hong Kong Communist Government has been trying to carry out this plan.
1. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge being built along the seashore of Lantau Island will connect Macau and Zhuhai, China. But at the moment there are not many vehicles with a Hong Kong-China registration number. In order to make sure that there would be vehicles using the Bridge, the Democratic Alliance for Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (abbreviated DAB, a strongly pro-Communist China political party in Hong Kong) advocated in 2013 that bridgehead economy be developed on the Lantua Island, that “a second restricted area”, i.e., a zone for drivers without a Hong Kong-China registration number, be set up. To put it simply, this is ceding Lantau Island for China vehicles to travel in and out freely.
2. In the Bay Area Plan, the Hong Kong Communist Government and Chinese Communist Government clearly indicate that they want to develop a Cultural Sight-seeing Village on the Lantau Island. In other words, they want to develop Tai O to entertain Mainland Chinese. DAB also advocates that motor hotels be set up on the Lantau Island.
3. In addition, the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor (the future express rail), that will connect Lantau, Hong Kong with Bao’an Airport, Shenzhen, China, will also make it convenient for Mainlanders to occupy Lantau Island.
To put it simply, the Hong Kong establishment wants Hongkongers to cede Lantau Island to China. China vehicles can then travel in and out of Lantau Island via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. Tai O is going to be rendered into a Cultural Sight-seeing Village and a second restricted zone for Mainland Chinese to have fun. And motor hotels will be built up to receive a large number of China vehicles entering Hong Kong by way of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge.
The present population of Lantau Island is 142 thousand. The island has old towns like Tai O, Mui Wo, Cheung Sa, and Pui O. It also has a 70 km long Lantau Trail leading to Sunset Peak, Yi Tung Shan, Lantau Peak, plus other old trails and Wong Lung Hang. It is said that the last emperor of the Sung Dynasty once stayed on the Lantau Island (around eight hundred years ago). Lantau Island is the only land of peace left in Hong Kong. The green areas of Lantau Island and the New Territories are walls defending the integrity of Hong Kong ecology and maintaining a balance between the urban and the rural.
Shenzhen and the entire Pearl River Delta to the North of China are already badly polluted and poorly suitable for human inhabitation, thanks to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) unbridled destruction of the natural environment there. Fortunately, Hong Kong has preserved country parks and a natural environment. Overlooking the entire Pearl River Delta on the Google satellite map, only Hong Kong possesses such a natural green zone, which defends the city-state. The plan made by the Hong Kong Communist and Chinese Communist Governments to open up Lantau Island to China will inevitably destroy the ecology of Hong Kong and further turn Hong Kong into a place like the Pearl River Delta or Mainland China. This clearly shows that under the rule of the Hong Kong Communist regime, Hong Kong will continue to deteriorate into an ordinary city under the CCP.
The Lantau matter clearly indicates that apart from blood transfusion and economic colonization, China colonization of Hong Kong also includes re-planning the territory of Hong Kong, reducing it to a cultural and tourist zone of Guangzhou. The future of Hong Kong lies in continuing the Phoenix (or Umbrella) Revolution in Mongkok, Causeway Bay and Admiralty, in order that the CCP will yield to Hongkongers’ demand for genuine autonomy and self-determination, that the planning of Hong Kong will be based on local interests.
